PPC (Pay Per Click) and Organic Search Internet Marketing – You decide
Blackball Online Marketing offers both Pay Per Click (PPC) and Organic Search Engine Optimization advertising. Each of these methods has their place. In our experience PPC advertising campaigns are usually done when the product or service is extremely time sensitive or profit margins are very high. Given enough operating budget, PPC can prove lucrative and drive traffic to your business Website or phones. The following is an excerpt from Wikipedia regarding Pay Per Click advertising: (The link is here to view the complete Pay Per Click Wiki.)
"Pay Per Click (PPC) is an Internet advertising model used on search engines, advertising networks, and content sites, such as blogs, in which advertisers pay their host only when their ad is clicked. With search engines, advertisers typically bid on keyword phrases relevant to their target market. Content sites commonly charge a fixed price per click rather than use a bidding system.
Websites that utilize PPC ads will display an advertisement when a keyword query matches an advertiser's keyword list, or when a content site displays relevant content. Such advertisements are called sponsored links or sponsored ads, and appear adjacent to or above organic results on search engine results pages, or anywhere a web developer chooses on a content site.
Although many PPC providers exist, Google AdWords, Yahoo! Search Marketing, and Microsoft adCenter are the three largest network operators, and all three operate under a bid-based model. Cost Per Click (CPC), varies depending on the search engine and the level of competition for a particular keyword."
With PPC, once your Ad dollar is spent, it's gone, just like running an ad in a trade magazine for a month, you're not seen or heard from again until you buy another spot. On the other hand, a sound Organic SEO strategy is an investment in something. It builds your "brand," who you are, your reputation, and what you have to offer - consistently. The word gets out about you, stays out and grows.
Organic SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Just like any other form of advertisement branding, Organic SEO takes some time to develop. But at the end of the day when your Online Ad dollars are spent, an Organic SEO initiative builds a number of genuine business assets, such as:
- Improved Search Engine Ranking
- Improved GEO (Geographical) targeting
- Improved overall Internet presence and exposure
- Credibility, (someone who's established)
In summation, both of these methods of Internet Marketing vary greatly and both can be extremely effective. If given the opportunity, my suggestion is to do both.
